These protective materials prevent image fading and dye-migration and reduce normal wear from handling and frequent card swiping through magnetic stripe readers.
We offer different customizable levels of protecting your cards: different holograms, various types of holograghic, optically variable inks as well as laminates with different security features can be custom-made for you!
Overlays protect thermal transfer color cards from dye migration. Usually, cards with overlay protection should be changed after 2 years. Experience has shown that cards that are vital for security issues or that are supposed to be used for more than 2 years should be laminated. Laminating cards is also advisable whenever cards are exposed to strong UV – radiation –such as taxi driver licenses, facilities (where chemical solvents are used…).
